The environment is at times so loud and cacophonous that it is almost unbelievable. I spent some quiet time on the 285e during the show on a couple of occasions and felt that it sounded great, and a bit different from the original 285. My arbitrary descriptor is 'precise'. A short aside: There was a moment where Ezra made a quick a patch sounding quite like the marathon rock solo at the neighboring booth, confounding the ears of several as he wailed away with what I could only describe as a delightful dose of irreverence.
