to add and subtract numbers of pulses, make the 250e have a 'retreat' pulse input (as opposed to 'advance'), by setting the stage addressing to strobed, and patching a CV output to stage adressing CV input, and setting the voltage output from each stage to address the stage before. the strobe pulse input then acts as a 'retreat' input. then the current stage number is as an accumulator to which 'advance' pulses add and 'retreat' pulses subtract. have used this as a tempo difference meter comparing pulse frequency at 'advance' and 'retreat', and to synthesize signals at the tempo difference frequency. many variations also seems to suggest a few additions a sequencer might want...... had thought also of trying 256e in feedback around 266e sample and hold to do the adding and subtracting, but don't have the hardware at hand.
