So recently i put the old 259 and the 261e waveshapers side by side (in a very non academic way, just by ear). Basically i tried to tweak in the same timbres. Only using symmetry they can be quite close, but the 261e goes from -5 to +15 of the 259 symmetry shaper. The 259 area of the 261e is only a small part of the scale. The order knob is even more so, and it was harder to achieve similar sounds. Side by side the 259 is generally mellower than the 261e. Johan
