If this is in regard to just using midi to control the 200e, then i have to say that this isn't really a true statement. The 200e responds generously to external midi (more on this in a second, too) What the 200e can't do it GENERATE midi TO the outside world. It can receive and use it from anything. From a Marimba Lumina, from a keyboard, from a sequencer, from your computer, from anywhere - even from tiny data gloves designed to fit a hampster if you wish (!). <<Hi, could somebody go into more detail? What aspects of the advertised MIDI features are not implemented yet? None. <<I play a Marimba Lumina and would like to be able to control a 200e with it>> Can do. <<Does the internal midi bus work?>> Yes <<What about the midi-to-cv note and controller features>>? As far as the internal busses, there are 20 in the 200e. 16 of these convert the midi to voltages before you can get to them, 4 keep them as midi, and you can't get to them accept to tune them for the specific need - let me explain. On each bus you can set the receiving channel (1-16), you can set it up as Mono or Poly, you can falvor how it responds to gate information and you can detune. The first four midi buses on the 225e remain midi and are hardwired as follows: Bus 1 Pitch to VCO1, velocity to LPG 1, gate to EG1 Bus 2 Pitch to VCO2, velocity to LPG 2, gate to EG2 Bus 3 Pitch to VCO3, velocity to LPG 3, gate to EG3 Bus 4 Pitch to VCO4, velocity to LPG 4, gate to EG4 You can't get to these as patch points on the 225e. They are hardwired within the machine. The remaining 16 busses are converted to voltages or gates and go to the faceplate jacks of the 225: Busses E, F, G and H have pitch, vel. and gates (three jacks per bus) The last 12 buses only pass controller information, again as a voltage My suggestion though would be to contact Buchla and Associates - they are very responsive to these types of questions. hope this helps. - P Yahoo!
