I LOVE it! I never tried a Thunder or Lighting, so I cannot compare it to those. It is extremely flexible, which is why I recommended to the original poster that he get a 225e. That said, the interface is really intuitive. Basically, there is a page that lets you assign keys to trigger up to 5 pulses. These pulses come out of jacks 1 -5. The main page for controlling what is sent out of the keys is the radio grouping page. There are 4 groups. You can start by choosing what keys are assigned to each group. Once you establish that, there are 4 outputs for each group. Each has a pulse output. Then there is an output for location, pressure and impact. You select which one you want from the output by choosing I, L, or P from the menu. The next menu on the page corresponds to the next jack, which is the CV jack. This is where you assign the voltage output from each key in the group. You have control over 0.01 V increments... allowing for very precise tuning. Obviously, this is where you could spend a bit of time configuring it so that is why I would really recommend that you have a 225e. The last menu item/jack can be set to output a CV or location. If set to location, it will output 0-10V over the entire range of the key/ribbon. CV will let you assign the CV amount in the same manor as the last jack. Want polyphony? The next page lets you select how many voices. If you select 2 voice polyphony, the settings from the first group are output by the next. Easy. The rings also get a page on the UI to determine if they will toggle or sustain by using one of the keys on the upper corners of the touch controller. SO.. I don't want to repeat what is already on the 222e page at b&a or paraphrase the manual.. but hopefully this gives you an idea of what goes into setting up a patch. The first few days I had it I didn't have the docs and was able to sus it out right away (credit to b&a, not me:) Is it smooth? Yes. Both the rings and keys will sweep smoothly over the full 0-10 voltage range without any audible "stepping" as it has been called here b4. IMHO, the 200e has found its heart in this module. In the short time I've had it, it has changed the way that I approach exploring and playing electronic instruments. Amazing! Anyone else get theirs? ---tom --- In 200e@yahoogroups.com, "wiardmodular" <wiardmodular@...> wrote: > > "tmeade1974" <tmeade1974@> wrote: > > > > I have a 222e > > You are the first person I've noticed on this list to post that they > actually have a 222e in hand. > > I hope this means they are starting to roll off the assembly line. > > Curious what your impressions are of the module.
