210e CV section and usage

210e CV section and usage

2008-08-03 by fhserge

How does the CV section in the 210e work?

The manual states:
"the output will be the sum of the scaled inputs"

whereas the website says:
"if more than one input is routed to a single output , the result is
ORed (the highest control voltage wins)
------------------------------------------------
Do you use the 210e mostly as a "router" (to be able to save
patchings) or as a (matrix) mixer, attenuator etc?
------------------------------------------------
Thanks a lot in advance

Frank

I use the audio section mostly as a matrix mixer, and mostly for
effect sends.

The CV section sums, despite what the web site says. I use this as
attenuators and a little matrix mixing.

Thanks Chris, exactly what I was hoping to get when buying one!

If you watch the modular synth market today there are only a few
matrix mixers around (CV and/or AUDIO). Serge is offering them for a
long time whereas Modcan do not make them any more, nothi...ng from
MOTM, DOTCOM, Wiard...those modules seem to be "unsexy"

IMHO the Buchla 210e is offering a lot and is comparably cheap.

Joe, thanks for your reply! Will you be on tour in Germany this year?
