Re: Frequency Shifter / Balanced Modulator

First of all hi to everybody and thanks for letting me join this great forum.

Yes I'am also thinking about getting the Frequency Shifter / Balanced Modulator with my first setup (which i will hoppfully be able to order at the end of the summer) I allready orderd the ZOe in Buchla format.
So I have been thinking about not getting the filter but instead taking
the Frequency Shifter (i would use external filtering until i can spend mor money on the filter).
I know thats a tough tecisions and getting some more information on that module would be great.
So I am asking you what would you rather take.
The Frequency Shifter / Balanced Modulator or the Triple Morphing Filter.

David

Oh and I'am thinking about this specific setup:

18-panel Powered Cabinet
227e System Interface
Cyndustries ZOe (allready orderd)
261e Complex Waveform Generator
225e MIDI Decoder / Preset Manager
281e Quad Function Generator
292e Quad Dynamics Manager
266e Source of Uncertainty
210e Control and Signal Router
and one more module:

250e Arbitrary Function Generator
285e Frequency Shifter / Balanced Modulator
291e Triple Morphing Filter
or an other 261e or 259e ( when ther are enough people and Don is start making them again)

is the 225e needed if you are buying the 222e?
Will I need to use the 225e or will the 222e be fine without it...I am
talking the MIDI side of things.
thanks

congrats on the future purchase. the 200e has turned out to be my fav
modular synth, i own a Serge, have owned a Livewire,Doepfer etc which is
also great but the 200e makes you want to play it :-)

You may be waiting a while for the Zoe..it was promised last year...be
great to see it made soon though....as soon as I see one for sale I will
be interested.

Well, if you want MIDI and Presets, you'll want the 225e.

as far as i can tell, the 222e doesn't do anything with the midi
portion of the 225e.

you'll probably want a 225e or a 206e as a preset manager for your
setups since it takes some time to get your keyboard values entered in.

i don't know if the newest version of the 222e software has the
standalone preset functionality but v1 definitely doesn't so i lose
all my work when i power down unless i save with the 225e.

thanks,
