200e

Hi, sorry for the "what should I buy thread" but I am seriously 
considering purchasing some 200e modules to use with my Serge (and 
Fenix) modulars.  I know that there was a post the other day about 
using the TKB with teh 200e and Peter G. posted some good info a 
while back about interfacing the 2 systems (which, I cannot locate 
that post right now??), but I am curious to know what people's 
experience using teh 2 systems together are, possibly, even without 
any additional custom interface.

I am considering a 4 boat system that contains a 259e (Complex 
Waveform Gen), a 256e (Quad VC proc -- my Serge is low on CV 
mixing/scaling so I am VERY interested in using this in place of 
ordering a Serge Dual Proc and Scaling Proc), the 266e (Source of 
Uncertainty), and the 291e (Filter).  

Since I would idealy plan to grow the system over the years, this 
seams like a good place to start. I am also considering swapping out 
the 259 for a 281e..  Just not sure.

Also, since the 201e - 4 boat box is the center boat of the 12 
powered cab, does anyone know if it is upgradable?  Or is this just 
something I'd have to possibly work out with Don & Co.

Any advice anyone can give me would be great.

The combination of this two is great.
I have the smaller 3-boat panel system, which are the same width as a 
Serge panel (sans rack ears) and the only thing I had to do to 
optimize compatibility was to add some voltage to my TKB's gates (they 
are 5V, and the 281e needs 12V). I do this by feeding some 255e 
voltage into the 210e and mixing the TKB gates in.
As for the make up of your proposed system: do you really like the 
259e? The aliasing is, frankly, too much for me (but I guess it's a 
matter of personal preference). That's why I have a 261e on order. 
As for the exchange for a bigger system: talk to Don.
I think he might be willing to do some kind of exchange (as long as 
they are still within warranty, maybe?).

I just want to echo what cuari wrote regarding the 259e. Try to check one out in person if 
possible. The 259e is an amazing module, but yes, it does alias..a lot. Took me a while to 
warm up to it, but I can see how some people would never be able to do so.
