200e

I am interested to know what you use from your 200e into ???sorry I am tired and cant think to reword it 

i.e.are you using channel strips Avalon etc, reel to reel etc.


I am looking to buy a reel to reel and record my future Buchla experiments onto tape Revox PR99 Mk2, but am interested in chanel strips etc.
 
Is it a waste of money if I am just doing live improv? no multitracking etc

I would just make sure if you're recording to computer that your A/D is very good.  I use Metric Halo boxes for this. Sometimes I like to use a DI box equipped with a Jensen transformer, but often now I'm just going straight into the line in of the A/D.   These synths sound great and have plenty of character as is, so why bother adding other character pieces into the chain. Money better spent on more modules!

Tape should be fine with your improvisations, and gets you away from the distractions computer recording provided that the machine is in good condition.   Tape is a bit more resilient than hard drives or optical media as well
