newbie mix

2006-08-16 by vgermuse

Hello 200e-folks --

I'm new to the list and new to the 200e (though I have
done analog work for decades). Here's a link to a little
mix of some very beginning explorations on the 200e -- I
wouldn't call this a "piece" but definitely a study or
exploration. The only messed with sounds are 1) that
creeps in at :40 which is a Metasynth string pad created
from an FFT of a 200e stretched out random patch, and 2)
a Metasynth grain morph of the same 200e patch. 95%
buchla.

cheers,

Todd

Hi RSA --

Thanks for the kind comments, glad you like the sounds.

I can't give you exact patches -- I've just been experimenting,
recording the patch, then yanking everything out and starting over.

I must say, that the deeper I get into these modules the more
impressed I am! Just a single 259e (complex waveform generator) can
take you a lot of different places! Hook that up to just a 291e
(triple morphing filter) which has its own 8 stage snapshot sequencer
and away you go.

I might think about trying to post just some impressive simple patches
when I get the time.

Is it worth it -- I think so, but then I'm a old analog junkie.

best,

Todd

Thank you - very nice, excellent sounds!

Would you mind enumerating what's in your 200e system?

Hi Richard --

Thanks for listening. I've got the decked out, 3 "boat" version --
should take at least a couple of life times to really grok it :-)
enjoyed your improvised sounds at your site.

I agree, sounds very good. I'm also curious which modules were used on this recording. I wish more 200e owners would post sounds, there seems to be very little recorded evidence of the 200e out there...

in your opinion, is it worth the price? I have considered buying a (small) 200e for some time now.

thanks,
RSA
