black banana and 256e

2008-04-19 by cray5656

Hi all

I was looking at the Buchla web page with the "18 panel fully loaded"
and was surprised there was 4 VCOs and no 256e....are there many of
you who dont have this?

Also as I am coming from a Serge mind, I understand that Buchla have
audio and voltage separate

I assume blue banana is CV
red is trigger/ gates
so then what is black banana?

If there is something in particular you would like to know, I can
probably answer your question. But, I can't give you a copy of the
manual. As far as I know, it is not circulated in electronic format.

At this point I think Don is still revising the manual as software
updates are made and understandably doesn't want several versions of
the same document to be online in various stages of completion.. this
is why it hasn't been made available yet.

the previous manuals were as complete as they could be at the time of
printing.

from the 200e manual .....

"Control voltage inputs are generally black, sometimes grey. C.V. outputs are generally blue , sometimes violet , and occasionally green. Pulse inputs are always orange - outputs are invariably red."

Question for people with a manual: B&A has a tradition of giving
a free distribution grant for documentation (Easel docs,
Thunder docs). Is this still the case with the 200e manual?

I'm not familiar with the Serge Gold Book so I can't give you a
comparison. I do find the 200e manual to very deep; and quite terse at
the same time.

From my point of view, the great thing about the 200e is that the
majority of the features are obvious and intuitive. I found the manual
most helpful when learning which features were controlled by parameters
set in the menus of the various modules. For instance, the menus
controlling the mini-arf in the 291e are not immediately obvious. The
manual comes in handy when learning all of the features embedded there.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
