Thanks for your patience! After making the correction that you recommended (eliminating the space between -> and STR ), the program appears to function as expected. After executing, I have the value: 1 in the x-register. I believe that the value: 1 is the code that XMIT returns if the transmission was successful. So from here the likely head-scratcher will be how to get the PC and the target PC application to receive the string.
