With the HP 50G when I go into the numerical solver, I see the last equation I entered. Then I hit "Edit" to modify it and it allows me to edit it in character form at the bottom of the solve window. However I find this edit method cumbersome compared to the equation writer. Wouldn't it be nicer if the equation appeared in the equation writer when this button was pressed? I'm not sure why one would want to use the character editor when it is so much easier to visualize in the equation writer. Is there any way to use the equation writer for this kind of thing? I found that I could enter the equation in the equation writer and give it a name. Then in the solver I can press "CHOOS" and select the equation. However I haven't figured out how to later modify this equation using the equation writer. Anyway, for such a wonderful built in tool as the equation writer, it sure seems like they went pretty far out of their way to talk you out of using it. Thanks for any suggestions you may have. ~Paul
