transferring programs

2008-08-07 by Rachelle

I am having some trouble transferring some programs from my 48SX to my
50g. On my 48SX, there is a sub-routine that locks the calculator into
user mode, and brings up my custom menu and custom key assignments.
Plus, there are some flag settings that I am not sure about. I have no
way to contact the person who helped me program the 48SX to ask about
the flags, but they seem a bit odd to me. If anyone can help, it would
be greatly appreciated.

You say "trouble transferring some programs", do you mean some transfer ok & others don't?

When they don't transfer, is there some error code?

You say the calc is locked in user mode. Is this a separate problem or are you implying this has something to do with the transfer problem?

No, being locked into user mode is not a problem, I want it to stay
in user mode because of all my key assignments and the programs I
use it for at work.
I think I am getting the syntax wrong on some things, and that is
causing the trouble.

Re: [50g] Re: transferring programs

My guess is that there's a variable name in the program (the program that causes the transfer problem) that is now a command or function in the 50g. For example, the program might have the variable 'DIV' in it which, in the 48sx means nothing special and is treated as an unknown, in the 50g is a function.

Does the error code say anything more? I think in later models it tells you what word it got stuck on. In any case you may have to go into that program and change the problematic word.

That's my best guess at this point.
