Jack, if you have a few more money and if you like "old school like" gear you can look at the M�bius, Doepfer or Vermona MIDI step sequencers with knobs (yes, like old Moogs or ARPs !). They are more or less like the AN1x in board sequencer, with a little more steps. A little bit bulky (19' racks) but user friendly... Cheers. J.F.
