Hi, Completely agree with you - integration of synths with software is fraught, and there really should not be a reason for that at all. Unfortunately, I've sold my AN200, but have stayed on this List because it's such a thread of positivity! I have some other synths, and have promised myself to figure out exactly what the issues are with automation - is there a common theme? What are the variances (VST Host, Midi Interface, Synth, CC/NRPN/Sysex - a matrix of options)? It'll be a technology-focussed evening rather than a musical one in my bijou project studio..... Are you using an External Instrument device in Ableton? Can you record CC movements from the front panel of your AN1X along with midi note data (regardless of CTRLR)? What happens when you play that back - same 'slow' behaviour? Are you using something like a Midi Merge box, or a Midi Patchbay, in between your Midi interface and the Synth? Make sure you synth is setup to transmit CC from the front panel, and that you've followed the Yamaha documentation around this. Then try Reaper! ;-) Good luck. -- EBu [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
