Hi ! a sound patch has 2 "scenes", each one either with the same sound data (standard sound , the same on the whole keyboard) or different ones (in split or layer mode). The mod wheel can be programmed to "morph" between the 2 different sounds in layer mode, or not, but only when both "scene" switches are pressed together (and both LEDs are ON). Turn OFF one of the scenes and make a try. The modulation matrix is a bit complex... and the manual not so clear. Cheers.
