No! An extra sine wave is provided for sync purposes only. There is no way to change it to any other waveform. When you select the sync option, three different 'inner' waves are options for the master. Osc 2 remains unaffected.

Hi Jimmy !
I guess it's the waveform of the 2nd oscillator...
The first VCO "trigs" the other at each period.
FM is different, there is a modulation of the second waveform by the first, giving birth to the complex and evolving waveforms found on early "FM" synths such as the iconic DX series.
