I've been having problems with the AN1x because of the sheer number of options provided. I decide that I'll try everything and wind up with weird, heavily-layered, complicated sounds. These sounds,amusing as they are, don't fit in the mix very well.
Not extremely musical.
So, I'm writing patches with no layering. One osc. A little tuning instability, a little noise. They sound very nice.
An osc sync patch with fm and pw mod on the slave osc also sounds very nice--digital--especially with osc 2 being the source for the fm. But if I layer it with another scene, and/or set it on unison, it rapidly turns mutant.
When I get a good pile of sounds, I'll post them.
