Funny you should mention the Behringer stuff. A local store has the Modulizer and Virtualizer for about $120 each. I went to the web page, was impressed, and ran off to get a Modulizer on Saturday. This unit has a lot going for it -- fat filter, resonator, 3D effects, etc. As I was paying for it, I asked about its reverbs. (The stupids did not have one set up to demo.) It has NO reverbs! Ok, fine, I say, give me the Virtualizer (more of a standard reverb unit). Cracked the manual and looked up MIDI implementation. IT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE VELOCITY OR AFTERTOUCH! What does it recognize? Only controllers 20 - 30, and even these have limited real-time effectiveness on the signal processing. Boom - back in the box, back to the store. I'm picking up a good old Quadraverb +, which although doesn't quite shine, you can control many features with any continuos controller you want, including aftertouch, pitch bend, velocity, even note #. > > > tspeer wrote: > > > > > > > > > I may have just picked up a good bargain.... > > Just bought a Behrenger 2000 Multieffects unit from GC- (it > has a vocoder) > > for $100 brand new.- I'll have time to fiddle with it next weekend. > > > > I have the latest 'junk' mail flier from GC and I noticed the > prices on > ALL the Behringer Dynamic Processors, Effects modules > (including the one > you purchased), along with their mixer's are VERY attractive. > What's up > with that?
