The Yamaha AN1x Synthesizer mailing list

You want to make sure you're sending midi clock from Cakewalk.  Under 
"Project Options", "Midi output" select "Transmit MIDI 
Start/Continue/Stop/Clock", and specify the port that your AN1X is on. 
 If the AN1x has tempo set to "midi", (and arpeggiation or sequencing 
turned on, of course!), you should get a pattern playing at the tempo 
set by Cakewalk, whenever cakewalk is sending notes.
