I have two methods, and one of them I would recommend. Ideally, there would be a third way, but the AN1X doesn't support it.... And I have a related question for assiduous readers of the owners manual. methods one and two are below: I am using a Roland EV5 continous pedal for this task. Note this pedal has no center indent and doesn't swing back to center (that is to say, it behaves like the mod wheel, not the pitch wheel). Method One - In control matrix, set up a parameter set for VCO1 pitch and assign FC (foot control) as the source. Repeat for VCO2. This give you the option of choosing "direct" as the amount of pitch bending, which would be bi-directional. Method Two - In control matrix, set up a parameter set for Pitch up ( pitch down), and assign foot control as the source. The weakness of method two is that you only get unidirectional pitch bends (up or down) but it is much more effective than method 1, because most footpedals are not center sprung. I tried method one and found it irritating to try to master. Ok, now about the 3rd way and my question. MIDI controller #96 is the default midi controller for pitch bend. The AN1x does not support it. If it did, it would enable you to pedal based pitch-bends without having to edit your patches. Shame about that. MY QUESTION: On page 9 of the data book there is a table with control change modes. My an1x appears to respect the CC messages on the left hand side of the table (mode 1) but not those on the right hand side (mode 2). Is there some way to switch the mode of the synth? What does this mean? Cheers, Jerry
