In fact in the case of the PLG150AN, it is normally the host that is responding to the XG sysex and not the PLG card itself (although there are some exceptions to this). There is no way to prevent the AN1x responding to volume (or expression) messages. The only solution is to investigate whether the slaved device can remap its controller response (i.e. map a different controller to volume on the slave device). Then you can set the An1x to send that controller. However, be careful....if you are operating the AN1x in controller mode2, then almost every controller is mapped to an internal AN1x parameter (so choose a controller in the range 40 - 48).
