I'm not necessarily talking resonance.- I used to have a novation bassstation 
keyboard- you know the original one? and that had a lovely Oberheim/ Moog  
bass which I had no need for resonance/Q.- The oscillators were digital- but 
the filter was analogue and made with dual-transconductive Op amps 
(CA3080's???)

But yeah I know what you mean- i'm sure it will all come in 15 years time- 
after we get over the current surge of everything 8-bit (I too am a sucker 
for all things 8-bit!- but that's another story)
