I agree. Although the Nord can't imitate every synth ever built (but with
some work, the "gurus" come really close most of the time), and out of the
box, it's a bit on the cold and hard side (although that can also be changed
with some clever patching), it's the most versatile synth I've ever worked
with. Also, it can be patched to be a 18 knob hardware controller for
softsynths. If I wasn't allowed to have more than one single synth, the
NordModular would be my choise.
