I would call or email Yamaha and put those questions to them. 
You'll find contact names and numbers on page 120 of the 
Owner's Manual.

My best guess is that being a late model unit, replacement parts 
are still available. I know some Korg  Wavestation users have 
made a DIY repair for the WS backlight using modified 
replacement parts for the O1/WD series. So with that in mind - 
anything is possible :-)
