Here'a quick start for you. Pleas review pages 85-92 while 
feeling your away around this procedure:

Select a Voice you wish to work with.

Move the EDIT ROTARY knob to ARPPEGIO/SEQ menu.

Use the Parameter UP/DOWN switch under Common Arp/Seq to 
select 'Step SEQ Ptn'.

Hit the ARPEGGIO/SEQ button to engage playback.

Move the EDIT ROTARY knob to SEQ EDIT/SETUP menu.

Use the Parameter UP/DOWN switch under Event to select 
'Note'.

Use the Parameter UP/DOWN switch under 1-8/9-16 to select 
'1-8' for the 1st set of eight steps.

The eight Assign knobs equate to each of the first eight steps or 
the second eight steps depending on the previous selection (1-8 
or 9-16.)

Use each Assign knobs to scroll through the available range of 
MIDI Note numbers (0-127) for each step in your step sequence 
- the note name and MIDI note number are disaplayed as you 
move the Assign Knobs.

Use the STORE command once you've developed your Step 
Seq.

The above is *much* easier,i.e., less tedious data entry,  when 
administrated from within AN1xEdit. If you've haven't tried it from 
AN1xEdit then I suggest you give both approaches a try and you'll 
quickly find your way around :-)

FYI, there is an outstanding Environment layer for Logic Audio 
from Jetronic that can be used 
from within your Logic Autoload environment for the same 
purpose. This is the same fellow who wrote the equally excellent 
Variation layer for controlling the AN1x Effects! Much more 
sophisticated than my bare bones AN1x Mode 2 environment 
layer. All are available for download inthe Files section (I think.)
