After playing piano for a few weeks and ignoring the poor synth it was difficult to get used to the action-until it came time to play lead lines. The action is perfect for rapid fire legato lines. Also with lead synth, since there's already a fuzzed out, all-the-effects on, electric guitar, I find myself turning all my dual patches to single mode. Seems to cut through better. The distortion and and amp model effects don't sound too bad either. For a real wall of sound, set the reverb up to ridiculous levels and have the Z plane on the ribbon controller control the effect send. Layer a distorted lead (Nigel or Iron Man from my bank of patches for example)with a mellotron string patch. When you push down on the ribbon controller the reverb goes crazy. Actually works well as a pad sound, slow one note legato leads.Varying the reverb gives a nice wash of sound. If you play chords everything turns to mush. If you set the X plane to control the echo you can get instant dub effects. It's really cool when the guitar and the synth are both echoing and neither are in sync. Psychedelic.
