Hi all I have been away on business for some time and currently have over 100 messages from this group in my inbox, so some catching up to do :- ) For years, I have simply recorded to CD using my phillips CD recorder. It's time to start recording to my PC. I need some advice. Main equipment used in this project = AN1x, Ensoniq ASR-10, Mackie 1202 VLZ Pro, reasonably quick PC, Sonar 1.0 XL, Midisport 4x4. My PC has a soundblaster livedrive on the front with inputs. I can simply connect the tape outputs of the Mackie to the inputs of this live drive and it will record into Sonar, however I have huge feedback challenges and the quality is poor. I need an audio interface yes? So what to buy? Will a USB audio interface be my solution or is it something else? Recording direct to the soundcard seems not the right solution, so what is? How would an audio interface fit into my setup allowing high quality recording into Sonar? Advice, as always, much appreciated. Incidentally, I am thinking of sacking my beloved AN1x and Ensoniq ASR-10 and making it a bit more simple with a Motif ES. I can buy the PLG-AN150 card for it and still have all my AN1x patches, but a much better sampler and sequencer. Anyone got a Motif and any opinions? Thanks peeps! Alan
