The Yamaha AN1x Synthesizer mailing list

Got a new Alesis phase shifter last night. Really adds a nice organic 
sound to the AN1X. Very nice for pads. It fits nicely on the little 
lip on the right of the keyboard. The phase shifter really boosts the 
signal(even when bypassed) so unless I lower the volume on the AN1X I 
get distortion. There's a trim pot which keeps the phase shifter from 
getting overloaded. Since I'm using a tube amp, distortion is good. 
Really warms up the sound-like a clean boost pedal. The Alesis has a 
pattern sequencer and a tap tempo so between the two you can get a 
nice complex rhythm going.For fifty bucks it's like getting a new 
synthesizer.Like the AN1X really needs more modulation options! No on 
off button so be careful of pops.
