Welcome to AN1x-list.

Try using the 'Referesh' command. I don't have AN1xEdit up and
running in front of me as I write this ;-) and don't recall which
Menu item you will find this option under...ususally does the trick
for me.

These errors occur most likely because of a combination of issues.
If you search the list archives you will find this is an ongoing
concern. To summarize - the AN1x SysEx packets are unusually large
in comparison to most popular models. This is an irreversible design
limitation on Yamaha's part. If you are using a cheap, low quality
sound card type MIDI Interface you will undoubtedly experience
problems with data transfers using AN1xEdit. Also, data transfers
using USB MIDI Interface (regardless of platform) can suffer from
timeouts and dropped packets - often this can be attributed to the
manufacturer not providing drivers for their devices that work well
with SysEx. MIDIMAN MIDI Interfaces have been fairly reliable under
Windows for SysEx transfers but less so under Mac OS 9 and OS X until
recently. Emagic MIDI Interfaces have been reliable on both
platforms. Various cross platform Opcode and MIDISport Interfaces
have worked well but not without some troubleshooting.

There has been a growing number of posts to AN1x-list in recent
months from XP users having difficulties. No clear pattern has
emerged but the majority of replies have been from users having no
issues. I would suggest you double check the MOTU web site for the
most current drivers for the Mirco Lite and perhaps reinstall them.
Also, if you have any other hardware synths you might want to test
some SysEx dumps from those as well. Sometimes it's more reliable to
dump individual voices vs. bulk dumps.
