The Yamaha AN1x Synthesizer mailing list

Hi everyone, I'm trying to use an1xedit to back up the voices on my 
an1x. I have a problem because when i try to use the request button in 
edit to import the voices from my an1x into the PC, I get an error 
message on the PC and the synth. I've made sure that the device 
numbers match and theres no problems with the MIDI connection.

I can get the an1x to export files into Sonar as a sysex file, so i 
know they are backed up, but I'd like to be able to add descriptions 
to the voice names. I cant find a way of turning this into a .an1 file 
with edit.

Can anyone help? i havent got a lot of experience with sysex and 
edit's helpfile isnt detailed enough to help me troubleshoot this.
