hi first post here one thing i dislike about the an200 is the 1 measur per pattern thing. the only tip i got for now is to record patterns at half bpm of their reality. so i can obtain a (false) 2 measure pattern. do you wnat to share other tips? thanx

The next even more hated "feature" on the AN200 would be the re-initialisation of DSP alltogether with the pattern (note data is saved toghether with preset data, it's not anything that can be fixed). So, keep that in mind while programming, and at most say thanks for the reverse, 2x and 1/2x pattern play. Or use external sequencing (what I do). --- In AN1x-list@yahoogroups.com, "marcus" <sucramgaudio@...> wrote:

thanx for the answer!
i will do with my tip, and i use the an200 mostly to controll other things (sofware or samplers), i like its "groove" capabilities (above all reverse/forward patterns and, mostly, the fact that gate/swing/roll/pitch/scene it's just right in front of you).
i like this machine and it gives "pepper" to my recording session that way...

if you read the manual you will find useful tricks with the FREE EG buttons. The secret to have a 4 bars loop is to modify the synth track with the FREE EG function. Of course you can't modify the notes, but you can alter the sound with 4 different knobs (total 4 free eg buttons), in order to have a synth-shape movement up to 8 bars long. For example you can tweak the first free eg as volume down, the second as filter sweep etc. try and let me know.

ciao daniele
il mio quesito nasce dal fatto che (continuo in inglese)
i'm using the an200 mostly as a midi controller for samplers and synths because i like very much the groovy edit part of it (swing/reverse/beat/gate/roll/bwd/fwd/transpose/mute all in front of you), so my necessity is to use more than 1 measure per pattern.
i've tried to build up some patterns (to make some sort of "live sequencing songs") and to launch them trough the an200 keyboard, but you have to be be very very fast if you want to apply some feature of the an200's edit part.
i've also tried to build songs, but, for example, you lost some edit feature i like the best: you cannot go back and forward live with the reverse function, you have to write it but you can only go back in a pattern and forward in another...other thing i dislike on the Song section is the fact that the song is conceived as a "song": it doesen't loop, it ends...
a presto!!
