vst synthbass

vst synthbass

2010-05-10 by spaceanimals

The other night I tried getting some bass sounds out of AAS Ultra Analog vst synth. Maybe UA sounds more authentic (doesn't sound at all like my old SIEL DK 6000) but the AN1X is a much more aggressive synth. Much easier to get a good bass sound, especially when run through a tube amp.

Having great fun however with a freeware casio phase distortion synth. Gloriously cheesy.

Jimmy

Hi Jimmy,

I've never tried that AAS VST, but my all time favorite bass VST is the following:

	1. Arturia Moog Modular (very distinct filters)
	2. A-Synth (a free ware) very powerful oscillators & the filters are very close to moog's
	3. Finally the brand newACE from U-HE, stands for Any Cable Everywhere, so it's a modular synth, but it's capable to do many ground shaking basses, I love it...As for the Yamaha AN1x, I have the EX5 which has a mini AN synth onboard, man it sounds great, I can even do real bass guitar patches with the AN synth. Sometimes I wish to have AN1x but many people suffer from its tiny display & hard to program...

Sincerely,
Phreaque

Hello!
the AN1x is not so awful to program , even from the front panel. Let's
say it is less "user friendly" than a lot of V.A. synths. And for you
computer freaks there is a little software (AN1x edit) that makes the
things more comfortable....and a lot of sound patches available as .mid
or .an files.
Cheers.

Well to me, I've tried the PLG150-AN when I had a motif ES7, the programming via PC was logic, but not efficient. I found the Yamaha EX5 is easier to program, even the DX7!
BTW, my Virus TI2 is not that easy if you want to make a patch. Although there're too many knobs?!
