Randman joined the AN1x-list

2000-10-18 by roman_ulbrich2000@yahoo.de

Hallo to all AN1x-Users,

I'm a proud AN1x-Owner,too !

I use this synth mainly for Pop - & Ambienttracks.
So I need many, many patches from all categories and the
AN1x-list is the chance to get some more of them.

I have some ideas of patches were patch-desingers with more
know-how are needed.
Here are some "tasks" for all the good programmers:

1. The popular Sample-Sound of the Panflute like in Enigma's "Sadness
p.1" (with FEG ?)
2. The warm pad sound in the same song (uses Phaser/Flanger?)
3. Jan Hammers Bell-like Leadsound in "Crockett's Theme"
4. The Harmonica-like Solosound in "You're a woman..." from Bad Boys
Blue
5. an preset-like Orchestra-Hit
6. a powerful Ahhhhh-Choir-Patch: like Mellotron - and PPG-Choir
7. a highquality Acoustic guitar (Marteen-patch as Basic?)
8. a brilliant DX(7)-Tubular-Bell
9. the Solo sound from Genisis in "Follow you, follow me" after 2nd
Refrain
10. the Solosound of "Mama"'s- Intro (Genisis)

Thank you to all who try to get good results !

I've put some own patches in the Randmans Folder!

Sounds like you bought the wrong synth! I have all of these sounds in my
Emu sample library; if you don't already have a sampler you might consider
picking one up. Otherwise, a Roland D-50 and/or a DX7 can be had for pretty
cheap and would cover this territory pretty well. Korg Z1 costs an arm & a
leg but would give you excellent results. Sorry, but the AN1X is an analog
modelling synth and most everything you're describing here is very digital!

Well, this can be done, i have a panflute in my patches right now, actually it
was in one of the user patches in the patch directory here at onelist :) so
download some of the banks and you will encounter a panflute :)

:) this can be done also (i guess... because i don't remember the song very
well)

Possibly...

Possibly also... though it is going to take you some more effort

a bit more complex this one is... perhaps a detuned unison string on one SCENE
and another string variety on the other SCENE (one "attacky" and the other a
bit longer and more flowing)

Yeah, no problem also... though it's going to take some tweaking also... i
don't remember if i had one in my patch dir or not... but possibly you can find
a soft 'aaah' in my patch dir

Sorry, no can do :) ... at least not with this synth... a sample would be the
very best for this in my opinion

Can do ... just fiddle around with FM and a sine wave

don't know it...

don't know it either. :)

Welcome to the list and thanks for the new Voices - I enjoyed them.
Even that extra Daft Punk Tb303-clone patch. I spent this morning
playing with the Step Sequencer thanks to that ;-)

As others have mentioned these are are mostly, not entirely, better
suited for a digital synth. Lots of these were made by the popular
synths of the day, i.e., D50, DX7, etc. If you have a Sampler I can
point you towards a couple web sites that would narrow down your
search!

FYI - did you know the PPG VSTi sounds GREAT! Do you have Mac or PC
with a sequencer that can accomodate VSTi's?

Welcome aboard! Thanks for posting an intoduction along with the
patches.
