I can't understand WHY two different scenes!

I can't understand WHY two different scenes!

Sorry but I can't understand why to have 2 different scenes with
receiving in differents midi channels if you can't use An1x as a real
multitimbral instrument? You can't put a different amount of delay or
reverb in the two scenes! It's very strange and in the mix you can't
use the An1x as a two-parts instrument, if you want to put for
example a bass on scene 1 you have to pay attention to not use a Pad
with detuned unison or with a long-panning-delay on scene 2!!! For
the rest if you want THE BEST an CHEAPEST virtual analog you have to
go for this synth.

First of all , there are many synths which don't have effects onboard at all
...
Imagine AN-1x as one - do you want to sya that in that case it is a worthless
thingy ?
Many people just use the outboard FX racks and don't even try the
'cheap'-sounding built-in (I am not speaking about my own experience here as
I love the quality of Chorus/Delay kind of FX on AN-1x) ...
Yes , An-1 is NOT a fully 2-multi instrument but it gives you a CHANCE to run
in 2multi mode...
As you wish ...
You may forget and just use 2nd scene for morphing stuff.

Re: Thanks Ray!

Thanks Ray for replied my letter! I got my An1x since 2 days and for
me is a long-awaited come back. I had 2 years ago one An1x and I sold
it because I was looking for some money to buy my actual musical
equipment and I swap this synth with a JP8000. I like JP8000 but after
few months I really start missing my An1x, specially his deep basses
wich I can't program with the JP. Well, Now I'm writing because I was
thinking another time to swap the JP8000 with the An1x but I think I
hold both synths because I'm realizing that the one can't replace the
other.
Cheers!
Andrea

(I'm not in front of my An1x right now so I
can't test this) Is there a way to pan one
voice left and another right so you can
send them to different effects units. I know
that my Alesis QuadrafexQ2 can take separate
channels with separate fx that would be perfect
for the An1x.

RE: [AN1x-list] Re: I can't understand WHY two different scenes!

2001-06-27 by Gary Gregson

Hi Steve

Panning is quite a complex topic on the An1x! Depending on how the two
scenes are used the panning behaviour will be different. When the scenes
are used in Dual or unison modes then panning is controlled by the voice
common LAYER PAN and SEPARATE controls. This allows you to create a
layered voice with interesting panning fields.

I believe if the scenes are not used as a layer and are allocated to
different MIDI Rx channels; then you can simply use the standard pan
controller channel message (CC 10) to set pan positions.

In all cases be careful when using the An1x on-board effect parameters
(particularly Variation dry/wet) as these can weaken the panning!

Gary Gregson
