Hi Carl, I've got the an200 too for a quite short time. Here in the AN1x list they use to take a little mick of us - the an200 owners, sometimes. But I think they love us. You ment ELO as your influence. I loved them during "Confusion" times but I heve been always totally possesed by Kraftwerk. Primarily I am architect. Music was my first love... Peace, Piotr

This is still me. I've been trying to create an account that dosen't put my email address as the poster. (I don't want spam). For some reason, I have been unable to make an account that lets me do this. This is why I've been deleting my posts and unsubscibing. I'm trying to sign with just an account name. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? Carl

Hi Carl, Sign up with an email address, but set your delivery instructions to 'Web Only' meaning you'll check your AN1x list's messages at the yahoogroups' site (rather than receive email). The only spam you may receive is rubbish sent to the list as a whole. If this happens, they're kicked off by the moderator(s) and reported to yahoogroups. Yahoo do not appreciate spamming on their lists (as it clearly is in competition to their own banner ads) and take action against the perpetrators. If you have a complaint, you may contact yahoogroups from their no-spam link from their main page. I've never had problems with unsolicitored mail being delivered directly to my private address as a result of a yahoogroups account (and I'm on about 12 lists). Occasionally the group receives something as a whole, but this is dealt with appropriately as I've already mentioned. Happy yahoogrouping! Phil

This will permit you to keep any of the email addresses that you've recently subscribed with for their intended purposes, i.e., non-mailing list oriented. You can set up an account under any name you choose, real or made up, and all your 'real' contact info will be behind the scenes. This will also permit you to manage any offline, i.e., off topic, conversations you might conduct with other list members using only the .....@... address. As Phil wisely suggested, you might also consider changing your list subscriptions to 'web only' - especailly if you subscribe to many lists, or at the least, one or two high volume lists. The Logic Users list for example is HUGE. I don't need 100+ emails a day from THAT monster, know what I mean?! 'Web Only' makes it more than managable. A combination of these two approaches might be well suited to your 'no spam' approach. Good luck - and welcome to the list. HTH, Jon

How do I get to use my Yahoo ID as my identification for authorship (as opposed to a partial email ID)? Thanks, Carl

Hi there again Carl, Do you mean when you check up the list via the web, on some posts are a non-linkable name, and on others a partial address with a link? Well I don't know, to be honest. I've just checked the recent posts and I see my name "Phil" and it can't be accessed, yet others have the abbreviated address. Good question??? Does anyone know why? Was there an option somewhere to prevent people contacting list members through yahoogroups? Phil
