An1Edit via ToHost on CS6X?

An1Edit via ToHost on CS6X?

2001-12-31 by davidcomdico

Hi folks:

I'm using the PLG150-AN plug-in board with the CS6X and as
you know An1Edit is a necessity in such as setup. I recently tried
connecting the CS6X to my computer via the TOHost serial port
in order to free up a midi in on my midi interface. Everything is
working great EXCEPT An1edit (even card filer).

I am on a Mac running OMS. Am I overlooking something or is
An1Edit incompatible with the ToHost serial connect?

Thanks

I uploaded a copy of that Yamaha PDF for the PLG150 and CS6x
to the files section. Someone was good enough to post the link a
couple of weeks ago. You might check that PDF for details.

Here's a suggestion based on my experience with OMS and
AN1xEdit:

From within AN1xEdit, choose Setup from the menu bar - select
MIDI Port Setup... a dialog box should appear with pop up menus
for MIDI In and MIDI Out . All the devices listed in your OMS Setup
doc should be in those pop up menus. If the CS6x/PLG150
combo is already selected then chose the *next* device in the list
for both MIDI In and Out options - click OK. Now repeat the
process but reselect you CS6x/PLG150 combo - click OK. Does
AN1xEdit 'talk' to your PLG150 now?

Without fail, every time I swap MIDI interfaces on my Mac the
connection between AN1xEdit and my AN1x fails and I use the
above exercise to 'wake up' the OMS/AN1xEdit connection.
Hopefully it will work for your circumstance too.

Hope this helps. Happy New Year.

Jon is correct. There is a small bug in An1xEdit on the Mac concenring
MIDI port selection. If your ports change under OMS, then An1xEdit
doesn't automatically update correctly. So you need to deselect the
current port and then reselect it.
