Tip: Synchronizing AN1x LFO's to Tempo

Here's a programming tip I hope you find useful: As we all know, the AN1x LFO1 offers a tremendous selection of Waveform variations but, neither LFO1, or LFO2, can be synchronized to MIDI Clocks. Or can they? If you check the AN1x Data List that came with the Owner's Manual you'll find a table on page 8 that converts the relative Data Value for the LFO to a value in Hz. Great, but how do you calculate Hz to Tempo? Well, here's some nifty online rate calculators courtesy of Deepsound World http://www.deepsound.net/calculation.html Most of these calculators are pretty useful but the one we're interested in right now is the Bpm / Delay Calculator. Enter a BPM, we'll use 140 for our example, and hit the calculate button. The equivalent rates in ms. and Hz. will be displayed. If you're looking to sync the LFO to 1/4 notes, you'll notice the Frequency Rate at 140 BPM is 2.333 Hz. - now look up that Value in the LFO Frequency table and you find the equivalent AN1x LFO data value is somewhere in between '27' and '28' for LFO1 Speed (or LFO2 Speed if you rather.) After you play with this for awhile you'll notice that the values don't translate EXACTLY for every potential BPM / Delay Time / Frequency. This is where you need to use your own ears and tweak to taste but it's at least good enough to get you a ball park figure. Hope this is of some help to all you AN1x programmers out there. Let me know what you think. Regards, Jon P.S. - Any one into working with loops may want to check out some of Deepsound's Calculators too.
