me myself and I

me myself and I

New user here,
have got the AN1X since a couple of months and the RM1X for some
longer time, have learned to use the RM1X a _little_ bit, but have
not learned to use (program) the AN1X much at all. School taking too
much time...

Would like to make all kinds of music from rock ala Smashing Pumpkins
to trance ala Corsten to synth ala Kraftwerk.

Would very much like to get in contact with other people who use the
An1x with the Rm1x as a sequencer, in order to exchanges little ideas
and details on how to build up certain effects etc.

Have _lots_ of questions but dont know where to start right now...
oh yes, one very basic question: a "patch", i presume that is the
same thing as i refer to as a "sound"? Is this a general term for
programmed sounds?

See ya.

Yes. In the early days of analog synthesis, most synthesizers were modular designs. Different modules (VCO, VCF, etc.) were connected together with short cables called patch cords. A series of connections, which resulted in a sound, became known as "patches."
