For a moment there I thought you were refering to an actual CV to Midi 
converter- I've been wanting to get my hands on something like this for some 
time- anybody have any suggestions?

Do you mean MIDI to CV?  In that case I think there are a few actually in
production - IIRC MIDI Man makes one.
If you did mean CV to MIDI... I don't know of anything like that.

YES- CV to MIDI- just think of the possibilities.... you could use a modular 
synth to control CC's (not that i've got an analogue modular to hand!)

Waldorf Pulse Plus and Novation bass station have both CV-> Midi and Midi-CV
convertors...
I used (tried , not used a lot) my Roland SH-101 with it in a single dir.
(MIDI->CV) and it worked fine...
