I often see the an1x pop up on www.harmony-central.com under the classifieds in the synth section. Good luck. Dont pay more than 400-450. It's a lot of synth for those prices. Eric [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I know where there is a floor model at a store that does not cater much to synth guys, 499 , and it still has the plastic on the displays..... Absolute perfect, looks like it has never been touched.... is that a good deal? --- In AN1x-list@yahoogroups.com, esynthplyr1@a... wrote:

You could try to haggle to get something off the price because it's a showroom model. - Peter -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- For the best online gift ideas check out http://shop.di-ve.com

Its dollars, and these guys are a bunch of electric piano and rompler snobs, if its not a triton they dont touch it. I might try to haggle with them on it, if i decide i want it. I have a n an200 now so i really dont need it. I just could not believe they had one. When i say its mint , its like its never been touched, heck it wasnt even plugged in. BTW, i took a look at the vsynth today. I dont know about that thing, plastic endcaps on a 2200 dollar synth? The sales guy which happens to be in charge of their synth purchasing says " well the tritons have a lot of plastic " , I am like, " well you dont see my buying one of those today either " . I DO dig the groovy lcd screen. This is the first synth i feel like i dont have to have a pc to program, its that in depth. I am still not convinced it is a great synth for my needs, seems kinda gimmicky....... --- In AN1x-list@yahoogroups.com, Peter Korsten <peterk@m...> wrote: > On Mon, 17 Feb 2003 23:39:56 -0000 "Linuxmanvan <linuxmanvan@y...>" wrote: > > > I know where there is a floor model at a store that does not cater > > much to synth guys, 499 , and it still has the plastic on the > > displays..... Just a thought...that AN1x is probably a 'floor model', right? That means it will be sold 'as new' including the standard 1 yr. Warranty which, IMHO, is probably worth the $50-100 over 2nd hand prices. The AN1x had few hardware bugs/defects *but* with a warranty you could have them addressed by Yamaha at no extra charge to you - and probably get an OS v1.04 EPROM out of them too! regards, Jon

It's a good price, and since these people appear clueless, why not try to haggle them down? Serves them right. > BTW, i took a look at the vsynth today. I get the impression that a lot of people aren't exactly overwhemled by the V-Synth. I'd try it out, read some reviews and user comments first. $2200 is a lot of money. - Peter

Yea, i might try to get it from them for 450 or so, we will see. They dont exactly cater to the synth market in the way we think of it, so , yea they are a bit clueless. If i was them id have it on ebay! As far as the vsynth goes, i AM overwelmed, by how much crap there is there that is gimicky. Like that mouse pad deal that looks like a kaoss pad, im just not impressed by that or that d beam. I know it appeals to some folks but i guess im not in that target market. And for petes sake, could they not make it all metal or at least thrown some wood encaps on there for 2200! Cheers --- In AN1x-list@yahoogroups.com, Peter Korsten <peterk@m...> wrote:
