The AN1x was modeled after the Prophet 5. Not only that, the man
responsible for the Prophet 5 Dave Smith, worked with Yamaha's R&D
helping them with physical modeling.

If you'd like read Yamaha's PLG150-AN/P5 hype you'll find it here
http://www.xgfactory.com/html/plg/p150anx.htm

I don't know how accurate this comment regarding Dave Smith is
- although there were a number of ex-Sequential Circtuis
emplpyee's contracted by Yamaha when the SY22/TG33 were
developed. They left Yamaha for Korg and the Wavestation
followed suit shortly there after (this is back in '88-89.) I'm pretty
certain Dave Smith DID make a soft synth replica of the SC
Pro-One for Wine Country. Think it runs on the Creamware
Pulsar platform.
