christ! The MS2, was available here for 850 when it came out on the market (the keyboard version) and that was at Guitar Center in Chicago of all places!!!....You germans need to revolt against your still nazi ran music distributors...but on the otherhand, that probably why all the dopest music comes out of all the places where everything is so expensive, you dont have some 15 year old kid going out and buying an MC-505 and getting picked up by some naive label and representing your whole country with his "i mowed 100 lawns to buy this" piece of "groove gear" hehehae.... uhh, there's my rant, ash

Umm, probably a silly question... are we all talking in the same currency? eg. in Australia I think the MS2000's around $1800 (???) BUT, $1AUS = 60c USA $1AUS = 40p ENGLAND Although, we ALWAYS pay more - even after price/currency conversion. Phil :(

And now we're getting *way* off topic (aint it fun!) but,
If you mapped out, in decending order, the economic climate of all the
countries in the world, you could probably have quite a lengthy world trip
living off the profits of currency exchanges.
I'd hate to think where I'd end up though. Actually, probably right back in
Australia - we just introduced a GST (Goods&ServicesTax) 4 days ago!

I just simply don´t buy from them. We have better (german) and cheaper products anyway...Jomox, Waldorf...hehe...You can get a Waldorf Microwave XT for around $950 here, right now. ;) but on the otherhand, that probably why all the dopest music > comes out of all the places where everything is so expensive, you dont have > some 15 year old kid going out and buying an MC-505 and getting picked up by > some naive label and representing your whole country with his "i mowed 100 > lawns to buy this" piece of "groove gear" hehehae.... Yeah, instead we have 15 year old kids going out presenting their "megacool" Dance-Trance-crap made with their "Radium"-versions of Magix Music Maker, ReBirth and (Dance/Techno/Hiphop)eJay. Let me suggest that (in particular young) people should improve first if they are worth to be on the list. I have nothing against softsynths, as long as i don\ufffdt have to read promotions for unoriginal sounds made with it. Mhm..... you're right. This was too polemic, maybe it was not my day, sorry for that. But I join bands about 25 years. During this time I've met a lot of musicians. I depend on playing live because it's the only income I have. So I play a lot with different people. And I really don't like the attitude to judge people wich have a different approach to music. (I often see this among musicians) I can remember the time when Jasper van't Hof (hope that I type the name right -keyboarder of Pork Pie) have said that he would never use a synth -just organ and rhodes-. But he wasn't more serious than Joe Zawinul........I guess. Some years later Rick Wakeman said that he only use sequencers not faster than he can play with his fingers. Today thoose statements are nice and funny to remember, but not important. What I want to say is that an instrument -like AN1- is just an instrument -a tool- nothing more. The crucial point is still the music, the idea the something you deliver to the audience. I like this list and I've learned a lot. How to create sounds is an important item but to me it's also important to listen to your music. If anyone is able to post mp3's of his AN related music anywhere. I would love to listen. Not to mention the possibility to exchange midi songs with AN sys ex's. And to work upon it as an open project. Like it or not. I like it. It´s big fun to play around and create odd stuff. The other site is: http://www.nanoloop.de It´s a softsynth/step-sequencer-module for the Nintendo Gameboy, very cool for making music while on holiday (and much cheaper than Yamaha´s QY70...700). I have it already and plugged it through a preamp to my mixer. It´s really fun and fits well to AN1x-pad sounds. Cheers, Tom
