Thanks for the info, i did actually mean self-oscillating! I'm not sure if it's a problem only on the AN200 or whether the AN1x and PLG150AN also suffer from it, but i find the delay effects cause clipping. Sometimes the echoes have a digital sounding clip and really stand out making them unuseable. I tend to have to rely on external delays. Also, i read in a review of the AN200 that the delays were sync-able to tempo. Is this true? Thanks again for any help! [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Don't know about the AN1X, but on the PLG board the only on-
board effects are Amp simulator and 3 band eq. It relies on the host
synth for other effects. Also don't know if AN200 delay is syncable
to tempo. ( if it is , I would think it would say in the owners
manual) You might want to check out Yamaha's website- sometimes they
have "power user guides" or lists of FAQs for various products.2004-03-13 by Andrea Toni
Hello, the an200 does synch to its own midi tempo .. page 134 manual not so sure if it will synch to an external midi sys clock .. but if i see the midi page it does rx and tx .. page 139 manual (on the contrary to the an1x that only rx it ! damm:-) so if the delay is on synch to that it may work maybe Gary can confirm .. ? as he wrote all the editors .. for the series an1 plg an . That said - the AN1x OS v1.04 ROM from Yamaha reportedly addressed an issue where clipping could occur specific to using the Sync Delay effect. > Sometimes the echoes have a digital sounding clip and really stand out making them unuseable. Is this true? > On the AN1x, one of the Delay effects is for synchronizing to the internal Arp/Seq or incoming MIDI Clock (the AN1x does not transmit MIDI Clock.) The other Delay effecrs require the user to calculate the correct ms of the note division you wish to match for the tempo of your song. Jon
