Opening her up

Opening her up

2004-03-16 by Jerry Aiyathurai

Ok, I'm finally ready to do it. Many of you know that I have been
experiencing a misbehaving key on my AN1X. It sometimes does not send
a note, and when it does it appears to send velocity = 127. Someone
(suggested I open up the synth and look for dirt on the contacts.

I am about to do so. Those of you who have opened up your synth, do
you have any advice?

Best,

Jerry

You might want to check the files section. Arnaldo Cortega has posted
some pictures of the inside of the AN1x. You can find the photos under
AN1x Surgery.

Better be ready to unscrew those 68 screws.

HI Jerry

I had the same kind of problems myself.

Just opened up the synth and vacuumcleaned the plastic ribbon beneath the
keys...
It was pretty filthy after five years of beating.

Sounds very simple, but it may take some time.

Remember its the bottom that comes off. Awful lot of screws inside, but you
don\ufffdt have to unscrew every one of them
Time consuming operation plus leftover screws all over the place.

regards Erkki
