Ok here's my first question. how can i load all the sounds into the 
an1xedit program at once that i currently have on my an1x. and then 
once there i want to rearrange them based on the songs that they will 
be used in and then reload them into the synth in that new order? any 
help would be appreciated.

next question and a little more complicated and maybe not quite the 
place to ask it but people here seem friendly and helpful so maybe 
someone can help. i want to set up my home studio which is sonar 
based now but i want to switch to cubase and uses a layla 20 as my 
audio and midi interface. so heres the deal:

an1x: directly inputted via midi into the layla
kawai xd5: drumsynth for drums
radium 49: used to control both the xd5 and all of my vst software    
synths(is it possible for me to use it as both)
Layla analog ins 1-8: for acoustic instruments and what not

so heres my problems. basically i don't know what channels to set 
everything on and what not in order for everything to work properly. 
beyond that i can't find in cubase how to choose which analog ins on 
the layla are selected to each track in order to do mulit-tracking. 
or the outputs. i'm new to cubase and it's driving me insane, but i 
really like all the supported vst software synths available to that 
platform. anyway any help regarding any of this would be greatly 
appreciated and you would become my new hero(seriously, sick i know 
but i've never quite understood how all this midi stuff works and i 
really want to learn it). thats it thanks again for any help that is 
offered.

This one's pretty straightforward - just open AN1x Edit, click File>Open and
then click on the file you want to move.  Click the Store Current button on the
right and pick the place you want to store it on your AN.  So one possible
scenario is for you to consider the synth as the place you are arranging your
patches as a staging area.  So if you like your current bank set, store them via
the editor first.  Then just Store Current to whatever location on the synth you
like, and when done click Bulk Request on the right side to pull the bank into
the editor.  Then save the bank for backup/archive/safety.

Yeah, this is a complicated question.  A suggestion would be to study the
concept of MIDI a bit and use paper and pen to build some setup ideas.  I'm not
exactly sure what the Layla does...

I use a MIDI patchbay to uncomplicate/complicate my life.  Maybe that's what the
Layla is.  It's got 6 MIDI inputs and 8 outputs and can do routing, channel
conversion, data filtering, etc.  Bottom line - any synth in my setup can be
used as a controller to play any other synth.  How does this magic occur?
Through the complex world of putting every synth on its own channel and then
using the patchbay to convert the input channel to the output channel is how.
Example: Roland G-808 guitar synth needs to play 2 separate synths at different
places in the song (live performance).  The patchbay is set up to take the input
channel of the guit synth and route it to the first synth but also needs to
convert the input channel of the guit synth to the receiving channel of the
module or keyboard.  The patchbay can do this (but you have to program it,
arrrrgggh tedium).  To play the other synth, the patchbay has to be programmed
for another setting (called a patch... damn nomenclature stuff) which will send
the data out the correct port on the correct channel for the receiving synth.
Thankfully, the patchbay has a footswitch option for up and down its patches so
this can be done live without removing the magic hands from the magic guitar.
