recording arpeggio in cubase sx

How can I record arpeggios in cubase sx? Now I'm using 2 channels
for that, one is the 'chord source', second is the 'arp target'.
Local switch on the an1x is switched on. The 'chord source' channel
has got the same midi channel as is the receive channel on the an1x.
I turn the arpeggio on and go to the desired "arp target" channel in
cubase. After recording the arrpeggio, I delete the "chord source"
channel to leave the synths receive channel for its own generator.
But it's all like work-around. Any other ideas?

Unfortunately, it really doesn't get any simpler than the system you've described. Kind of a
pain in the neck isn't it? :-/ It's always been a peeve of mine that the Arp/Seq doesn't work
unless Local is ON.

But well, nobody ever said that making music will be easy... :P
