Gentlemen, I just hadda add my 2\ufffd.
Last night I was tempted to respond to Jon's post by saying that this
group looks more like a programmer's list than a musician's.

So tonight (I'm at work) I wanna look up this interesting question in the
manual and find that it's not available in the Files section of our group.
I've got the main and secondary manuals in pdf format at home, so they're
probably available somewhere. (I think I picked them up at UK Yamahaha
originally.)

What I'm getting at is that maybe those manuals should be uploaded to the
group files. Why or why not, Jon?

All manuals are available at
http://www.yamaha.co.jp/manual/english/index.php in PDF format. BTW, Yamaha
just re-designed those webpages.

Hi Ed,

We simply decided to limit the redistribution of copyrighted materials on AN1x-list so
nobody could point fingers at us - and this included the PDF manuals. I don't know for a
fact that Yamaha would ever care, but my attitude is less cavlier towards this type of thing
than it once was, so aside from a few remaing Yamaha supplied Voices - we've cleaned up
the Files section. As an alternative, we put together a page of all the
hyperlinks to AN1x related PDF manuals here:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/AN1x-list/links/
AN1x_Reference_Manua_001057538672/

(you may need to cut and paster the URL into your browser due to the strange behavior of
word wrap under Yahoo! Groups) I think the same info is on the FAQ too.

Ad while we're on the subject, we've also cleared up the matter of 'list ownership' so there
are now a few of us with authorization to administrate the list. This way if one of were to
leave AN1x-list somebody will remain who can handle the mundane, behind the scenes
stuff.
