James, The adapter is for the ST line of computers. There are 2 versions 1 for the STE and one for the STF and FM. The FM requires soldering and the STE is a plugs into the CPU socket. The TT is not supported by this adapter. The TOS upgrade would only be needed if you would like to boot from the hard drive. But most likely would be included in the purchase of each adapter. The adapter does fit into the the case without any problems and if you use a 2.5" harddrive you can mount the drive in the case. The cost is due to the low number of boards that would be made and the mounting of chips. Some of the chips are SMT and I can not mount them. The interface will come with Atari hard drive software but, some people may pefer HD Driver software. I will talk to the owner if there is a demand. The interface has previously been sold Atari users and I myself have owned the adapter. It is a high quality adapter and works great. Since the warranty would be up to me, one would be included. I would stand behind each adapter 100% just as the original developer did. Hope thisa answers all your questions. Please feel free to email me with anymore.
